How To: Set Up Your Household and Roles

A KeeperCircle household is the private space your family's contacts live in. Every member has their own login — no shared passwords — and what you build is visible to your household, not to anyone else.

Step 1: Create your household

  1. Sign up and verify your email.
  2. Create your household and give it a name — most families just use their last name.
  3. You're the household owner: you control membership, billing, and settings. You can transfer ownership to another adult member later if you need to.

Step 2: Invite the other adults

  1. Open your household's member settings.
  2. Send an invitation to your partner or co-parent by email.
  3. They create their own account (or sign in if they have one) and accept. From that moment they see the same household contacts you do.

The free plan includes two adults per household — you and one other parent or guardian. The paid plan raises that to four, which covers stepparents, grandparents who help run the household, or other guardians.

Belonging to more than one household

One login can belong to multiple households — useful for co-parenting across two homes, or for helping your own parents manage their contacts. Each household is fully separate:

  • You switch between households in the app; you always see exactly one household's contacts at a time.
  • Your role is set per household. Being an owner in one doesn't make you an owner in another.
  • Plans are per household too — each household has its own free or paid plan.

Removing someone

The owner can remove a member at any time from member settings. Removal takes effect immediately — a removed member loses access to the household's contacts the moment it happens.
