The basics

What is KeeperCircle?

A private, shared contact list for your household. It's where the contacts your family needs, like the school, sitters, doctors, vendors, and neighbors, live together in one organized and searchable place instead of scattered across one person's phone and a pile of old texts. And the collection is not just searchable, you can organize by relationship types and categories to make it easy to retrieve info where you may have only distant recollection of use.

Is this supposed to replace my phone's contacts?

No. Your phone stays for the people you contact all the time. KeeperCircle is for the household contacts that either don't belong there at all due to infrequent use or that need to be kept up to date and shared by all the adults in the household or other child caregivers. It's for all the numbers where they're the answer to the loud call from the other room, "I can't find the number for Jeffrey's friend David's mom! Do you have it?" Or "What was that tree service we used three years ago?" Or even, "What was it Julie gave Suzi for her birthday last year?"

Who can see my household's contacts?

Only the members of your household, according to their roles. There's no public directory and no networking of any kind. No one outside your household can see anything.

How Do I Use Events & Notes?

Households have a lot of ongoing need to keep track of both history and upcoming events. While this is not intended as a calendar app, the reality is there's a lot about events we'd like to keep up with. For example, who's coming, (or who came), to an event. If there were gifts you want to keep track of, and similar. (You can export things like an event's invite list though, if you wanted to load it into an invite service.)

What are Contact Types?

There are two general types of contacts for households. People and Organizations, and of course there's sometimes overlap. For example, one primary value is often keeping track of your kids' friends' parents' names and contact information. (That was actually the original idea that started this app.) But also, there's clubs, organizations, community centers, vendors, and more. Sometimes these have people associated with them as well; like a coach or tutor. Other times, not. Sometimes they may be associated with a family member, or not; such as the electrician or plumber. And you can keep notes on what they did and how for the all but inevitable times you want to look back when you ask, "Who was that guy that fixed the outlets in the basement that time? Did he do a good job?"

Does it Work on Mobile?

Yes. KeeperCircle adjusts to work across desktop and laptop browsers as well as tablet and handset screens, though there are no native mobile apps at this time.

Is there a Mobile App to Download?

Not yet. That's by design. KeeperCircle exists to keep occasional contacts out of your phone's address book, so we built it as a fast, mobile-friendly website that works across platforms with nothing to install and nothing syncing into your personal contacts. We will consider adding native mobile apps in the future.

Can I add it to my device's home screen?

You can add KeeperCircle to your home screen for one-tap access.

iPhone/iPad (Safari): Open keepercircle.com in Safari, tap the Share button (square with an up arrow), scroll down, and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
Android (Chrome): Open keepercircle.com in Chrome, tap the three-dot menu in the top right, and tap Add to Home screen (or Install app), then confirm.

KeeperCircle should now open with one tap, just like an app.

(Note: iPhone users in Chrome can also do it via the Share icon → Add to Home Screen)

Privacy

Do you sell or share contact data?: No. We don't sell contact data, we don't share it with data brokers, and we never give any of it to advertisers or analytics services. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
What about private notes?: Notes are visible only inside your household. If you share a contact's details outside the app, private notes and contact history are excluded by default.
The free plan has ads. Do the ads see my contacts?: No. Ads appear only on non-sensitive pages, and they never receive anything from your household's records. Emergency views, printable output, billing, sign-in, and privacy screens never show ads at all. The paid plan removes ads inside the app. Where ads may exist, it's possible an advertising provider has general information about you via general digital advertising technology, such as cookies. In these cases ads may seem targeted, however, they do not use or have access to any data within the product itself.

Plans

What's the difference between free and paid?: Free covers a smaller household list (up to 100 contacts, 2 adults, and 5 custom lists) and is supported by ads on non-sensitive pages and by ads that don't use private information. Paid Household removes ads and lifts the limits, adding up to 10,000 contacts and 100 custom lists (many times more than any household will ever need), 4 adults plus 3 view-only members, contact history, and the printable emergency sheet. Can I give someone view-only access?: Yes, on the paid plan. A paid household can add viewers: limited members who see only the specific lists and contacts you explicitly share with them, and nothing else. Viewers never see your private notes, contact history, or medical and allergy details, and they can't edit anything. It's a good fit for a grandparent or a regular caregiver who needs to find a number but shouldn't change your household's records. Viewers don't count against your adult-member limit.
Who pays, me or the household?: Plans are per household, not per person. The household owner manages the subscription and everyone signed up from the household shares its features.
What happens if I cancel?: Your paid features run through the end of the billing period, then your household returns to the free plan and its limits. Your data stays put. Nothing is deleted because you downgraded. However, you can't add more and edits can only be on a selected group of 100.

Getting your contacts in

How does import work?: Connect Google Contacts or upload a contacts file (vCard/CSV). KeeperCircle shows you everything it found and you choose exactly which contacts join your household. Most people bring in a few dozen household contacts and leave the rest behind. Over time, you'll likely fill out more items directly here when they don't belong in your phone or if they need to be easily shared.
What does connecting Google Contacts let you see?: Read-only access to your Google contacts, used only to show them to you so you can pick which ones to import. Contacts you don't select aren't stored, and you can disconnect access any time from your Google account.

Housekeeping

Can I get my data out?: Yes. You can export your household's contact data from within the app. It's your data and we respect that. If at any time you want to export your data as backup, leave the product, or whatever other reasons, you can easily get it all. We do not trap your information.
What if I delete something by mistake?: Deleted records have a 30-day restore window. After that they're purged.
Where is KeeperCircle available?: KeeperCircle is offered in the United States, and your data is stored and processed in the U.S.
